Once a solution is made, how long will its sterilising properties last?
Question by: maconeto maconeto on 29 Oct 2020, 23:38
The solution should be used within 24 hours to comply with the BS testing for EN:1500 and EN:1276
Answer by: Mark Kent on 9 Feb 2021, 21:36
Can you add something to it so that it also removes limescale? For example vinegar. If so, how much?
Question by: Helen Seignior on 27 Feb 2021, 09:27
we do not recommend adding vinegar or citric acid. The solution is basic, acid will cancel it out.
you can make your own cleaning product lost cost and no toxins - find more information

I was wondering if using Sodium Hypochlorite harmful to the environment? I saw bleach ingredients include Sodium Hypochrite. What is the different between commercial bleach and Sodium Hypochlorite being made in the Osmio Senser you are selling?
Question by: Cindy on 25 Mar 2021, 11:42
Sodium Hypochlorite is an unstable solution, and in 30 days turns back into salt in water. The same would happen off the bleach - but is higher in concentration and there are other ingredients added to stabilise the solution and add a pleasant smell. The difference is - it hasn't got the toxicity of all the additives.
I clean my home now with only homemade cleaners from 8 basic ingredients. They still cleaners, and I have to wear gloves and ensure the room is ventilated, but the number of chemicals I am coming into contact with during cleaning is dramatically reduced. You can read more on the link below.

Hello,

I was wondering if this or the Sanser 2L would be suitable for cleaning the Osmio Zero instead of using a milton tablet?
Question by: Matthew on 16 Jun 2021, 15:30
Hello, yes it will be suitable. You would need to use 2.5 L high concentration solution without diluting.
Answer by: Irina Orlenko on 17 Jun 2021, 16:51
Would you be able to make a higher concentration by just running the program again with more salt?

I'm thinking of gifting this to a person who has a very very tiny home! Thank you.
Question by: Charlotte English on 12 Oct 2021, 16:44
It is a great present! Yes, the concentration will be higher, but we have not tested it.

The 10 cycle achieves a concentration of 300 ppm. This is sufficient to kill bacteria on the surface within 60 seconds of contact time. It is tested in accordance with BS EN 1276.

Hi,
What is the difference between this and the £50 Toucan Eco System that looks very similar, but claims to make hypochlorous acid rather than sodium hypochlorite?
I have a Toucan and use it as a hand sanitiser as well as a household cleaner. I was going to buy another Toucan, but will buy your cheaper model if you can assure me that it's essentially the same thing.
Thank you
Question by: Charlie on 24 Feb 2022, 19:44
The Osmio Sanser Will Produce the same cleaning spray as the Toucan

The Sanser was tested to the following standards

BS EN 1276: Chemical disinfectants and antiseptics. Quantitative suspension test for the evaluation of bactericidal activity of chemical disinfectants and antiseptics used in food, industrial, domestic and institutional areas.

For the product, Osmio Sanser Spray Hand Hygiene/General Purpose Disinfectant (10min cycle), [After Production] the log reduction requirements as specified in EN 1276:2019 (5 lg within the relevant contact time) were met in dirty conditions for a contact time of 60 seconds.

BS EN 1500: Chemical disinfectants and antiseptics. Hygienic handrub.

The test product was not inferior to the reference product and hence has met the requirements of EN 1500.

It will also produce the following solution strengths

Time Solution concentration Concentration range
5 minutes Low 150 - 200 mg/l
10 minutes Medium ≥ 300 mg/l

Can i confirm that the dose is one scoop? 12g doesn't mean much to me...

For home use, can I keep using it for a week or so if the solution takes a month to degrade fully?

If so, can you keep the thing filled with water more or less permanently? or do you need to dry it out every so often?
Question by: Charlotte on 19 Dec 2022, 19:59
4 scoops is equal to 12 g. You can download the manual using the link below, it is not recommended to store the solution in the Sanser if you are going to be using it over a period of time it is handy to have a spare spray bottle you can use to decant the solution into. It is recommended to empty the bottle and clean it out as per manual and store it until you next need to use it.
