Quick-Change Insertion filter can I buy separate?
Question by: Lukasz Smigiel on 30 Dec 2020, 19:35
Answer by: Mark Kent on 10 Feb 2021, 18:54
I have a water softening system in the house. I’ve had the Osmio Zero for 6 months now and no lights have come on. Do I need to change any filters? Shall I wait until a light shows? The quality of the water hasn’t changed, it’s good.
Question by: Fabrizia Costa on 7 Jan 2021, 10:54
If you have a softener the filters are very unlikely to block up within 6 months. We recommend changing filters every 6 months. Filters become more toxic over time, especially carbon block - it is absorbing impurities. It is good practice to change filters every 6 months.

Is it possible to buy the filter bundles (or you make a listing for it) with a blank cartridge if you don't want the remineralization of the water but you want to buy everything you need in 1 bundle.
Question by: Michael Jones on 27 Jan 2021, 22:29
The blank cartridge is in the Sanitisation Kit, which you need to buy for sanitising it.

Does the membrane filter come in the £55 filter replacement bundle if so which one is it?
Question by: Alkin on 6 Sep 2021, 18:04
Yes, the membrane is included in the replacement pack. It is one of the larger filters - it is labelled RO membrane.

How do I know which replacement filters to order for my recently purchased machine and what is the price as I live in USA please. Thank you
Question by: deborah perella on 7 Feb 2022, 17:10
The price is on the website in GBP £ and the website will remove UK VAT and delivery to US is applied. Up to $500 USD there is usually no tax but every US State has different rules so there could be duties to pay too. To find your replacement filters, just navigate to the product you have purchased on our website and on the product page, there is a block of "Related Products" where you will find the replacement filters.

Do you have pdfs or web-links explaining what each individual filter removes?

In particular which removes lead.

Also which minerals does the insertion filter reintroduce? Do they reintroduce at the same quantities over the life of the filter (6 months?), or do they reduce over time?

thanks
Question by: chris on 26 Apr 2022, 12:32
We have not had this particular system put through any independent third-party testing which is what we are allowed to publish by the WQA guidelines. But generally speaking, the 4 filters are:
5 micron sediment filter - reducing particulate matter.
Carbon block filter - This reduces a proportion of the lead/heavy metals as well as chlorine taste & odours, it also reduces dissolved gasses
Reverse osmosis membrane - Reduces dissolved solids, including over 20,000 impurities that we could tests for (one being lead), in the region of 93-96%.
The insertion filter adds 20-30ppm of organically bonded calcium and magnesium. The level of remineralisation may be a little higher when the filter is new, settling down after a couple of weeks. lifetime obviously depends on usage level, but we expect to function as intended over the 6 month filter life.

Do these filters have a shelf life? e.g. if i stocked up on them would they still be usable 1,2 or 3 years down the line?
Question by: Ash on 21 Mar 2023, 21:37
The filters don't have a shelf life but they do need to be stored so they are not exposed to extremes of temperature or to moisture. As long as you have somewhere dry that doesn't get too hot/cold then you will be able to buy several packs of filters to take advantage of our multibuy offers and use them over time.
