Smart and highly efficient reverse osmosis water filter and kettle that will produce high-quality water with no installation and super easy user maintenance. Osmio's compact, portable and countertop reverse osmosis water filter, the world's first revolutionary, installation-free household Reverse Osmosis (RO) countertop water purifier which also serves to provide, ambient, hot, and nearly boiling hot water at your fingertips with great ease of use and easy maintenance.

If you live in a hard water area then you may need to change the carbon block and membrane more frequently than every 6 months and do more frequent descaling (maximum hardness recommended is 250 ppm CaCO3). If you are not sure how to check your water hardness, click here to find out who your water company is, and then click through to their website to find where you can check hardness for your supply zone. If your water is over 200 mg/l total hardness, then you should look at our Salt Softener Range which will protect the whole house from limescale.

It is not recommended to use the Osmio Zero 2.0 if your water is over 250mg/l total hardness and if it is supplied via cold water storage tanks )which accumulate more scale and other solids adding to the problem). If you have these problems but still want to use a Zero, it is possible if you consider a good point of entry filter and softener system. Contact us if you want help with that.

Osmio Zero 2.0 Reverse Osmosis System - Smart and highly efficient reverse osmosis water filter and kettle that will produce high-quality water with no installation and super easy user maintenance.

Highly recommended for households or workplaces with 4 people or less. By not being installed, the Osmio Zero is the most hygienic reverse osmosis system because it is not connected to a smell drain.

Available in WHITE only.

Water Temperatures

The system can provide the following osmotic level water with organic calcium and magnesium active ceramic:

Normal temperature water (approx. 25 ° C), ideal for direct drinking
Warm water (40 ° C - 50 ° C) ideal for lukewarm water
Hot water (80 ° C - 88 ° C) ideal for coffee
Nearly boiling water (90 ° C - 98 ° C) ideal for tea - PLEASE NOTE - the system reaches 100% but then travels through the route to the dispenser and loses some degrees. By using a thermometer at the very top where the water comes out, you will measure around 92- 95°C. A great tip for hotter dispensing is first to select 100°C Setting, and let the water get hot, and make your mug hot. Then press stop and empty that out, then go again with a new 100°C press and the results are much better.

How to recycle and dispose of Osmio Zero water filters

Quick-Change activated carbon filter and Quick-Change membrane 50GPD filter: these two filters can be placed in plastics recycling. However, the bottom of the filters will first need to be cut open using a hacksaw. The carbon and membrane elements can then be removed and thrown into the bin before placing the filters in recycling.

Quick-Change Insertion filter: This filter should again be cut in half and the contents emptied out into the bin before recycling the plastic exterior.

Best Kettle, Best Water Filter - The Osmio Zero

It's just so good! There is nothing else like this on the market. It solves the cost and time of installation and you can take it anywhere and have it in any room. It's really easy to fill up the water, you just take out the tank, fill it and pop it back in. The unit is completely stand-alone with no connection to the drain.

It makes the perfect choice for anyone who wants the convenience of a top-of-range purification system with no installation and also for single people, students or small families, people who regularly travel and who are currently renting their property and cannot have a system installed on tap.

The unit is incredibly easy to use and assemble. Simply take it out of the box, plug it in, and fill the supply pitcher. Place it back into the system and turn the dial to adjust the temperature and press to dispense and stop, that's it! Within minutes you will have reverse osmosis quality water, ambient, warm, hot, or boiling at your fingertips!

Warranty

3-year free repair warranty for customers in mainland UK (free returns)*.

Customers within Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, as well as the following EU countries: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Netherlands, Luxemburg, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Italy, and Hungary, can also take advantage of this service but they are required to ship the system to us (no free returns).

We also offer repairs after 3 years for a small cost.

*Please see section 7 in the manual for warranty terms.

There is optional 5 years extended warranty available.

Please note: There is potential for the Osmio Zero to drip and for there to be a small amount of water underneath the system. This can be worse if the supply tank is allowed to get very dirty and with limescale buildup. So if you have a wooden, untreated worktop, it is recommended to put the system on a tray to avoid damaging the worktop. If you have a laminate or granite worktop this would of course not be a significant problem. It is recommended to clean the supply tank periodically and descale the supply tank and system regularly in hard water areas (we offer a limescale service for £55 as damage due to limescale build-up is not covered by warranty), please use a cloth to soak up and water that comes out from the tank connection at the base during supply tank refills.

Filter change frequency

Filter life directly depends on the quality of incoming water. It is mostly affected by hardness, however, other impurities can also cause premature blockage.  You most likely will need a mid-term change of Carbon Block and Membrane filters if you have a hardness level of around 200 + Calcium Carbonate. The unit is designed to shut off if there is a blockage in the membrane or prefilters. As the system recirculates the rejected water from the membrane, the TDS level continually rises from the water entering the membrane filter. Therefore, for those with water of higher TDS, more frequent carbon block and membrane changes are likely. It is recommended to have at least a spare carbon filter and membrane on hand with the unit at all times.

The first thing to note is that the system is amazingly easy to use and maintain and as Osmio, we have spent great investment into the product and our culture is customer care. We are passionate about our products.

The system is designed with ease and practicality in mind. The unit has a very simple user interface. Water comes with the turn of a dial and there is no complicated user manual needed. The system is fully portable and just needs to be plugged into a power supply. It does not need to be installed into household plumbing. Any water source gives you easy access to fresh and healthy RO pure water at any time.

Changing the filters is really quick and easy. They come off and go back on with a simple twist function.

The colour-coded LED instantly shows when the filtration has been completed. The intelligent, automatic, power-saving motor design, gives an instant supply of filtered water, and automatically shuts off when filtration is complete.

An ideal investment for small households! There is just the need to plug it into a normal power supply. Only a power connection via a simple plug socket - done!
The system has an automatic shutdown mode, after 1h the device switches off automatically, so you save power!

Filter Stages

>1 - Quick-Change activated carbon filter: reduction of chlorine and organic impurities
2 - Quick-Change Membrane 50GPD: reduction of vast array of pollutants
3 - Quick-Change Insertion Filters: Hygiene After-filter antibacterial calcium and magnesium bioceramics, adding a small 10-20 ppm of minerals.

Review by Dave Corbey - Coffee Equipment Reviews - "I’ve been using the system for over 2 weeks now and I have to say I really like it, a lot. It’s saved me time and space both above and below the counter. It makes life so much easier and everyone in the family loves it. On the cost front, sure there is a larger outlay initially, but doing the math it actually works out cost-neutral (family of 4). Based on being on a water meter and the fact that under-counter systems need end-of-life replacement and filters over time. I truly believe it doesn’t cost more to be greener and you get a heap of convenience thrown in. If you are not on a water meter then sure it’s going to cost more than an under-counter system but if you can afford it…why not save all that clean water from going down the drain. For bottled water users, it’s going to save a lot of money and help the environment in terms of plastic waste and the carbon used to produce and transport the water to the supermarket, only for you to transport it again. If you can afford an expensive coffee machine, then you need to use great water and the little Osmio Zero gives great water!"

Recycling the plastic parts of the Osmio Zero filters is possible.

  1. Osmio Zero Carbon Block - The carbon block inside this filter is NOT RECYLABLE. It must be taken out by first sawing off the very end of the filter. It can then be pulled out or you can use pliers to help. Please do not attempt this if you have any problems using a saw. The carbon can be composted or broken up and scattered onto soil. Crush it up and mix it into compost or soil - it also works very well in pot plants. It will increase soil aeration and water retention. Or you could put it in the bin where it might do some good in the landfill.
  2. Osmio Zero RO Membrane - put straight in plastic recycling
  3. Osmio Zero Post FIlter - this too has to be sawn off to remove the balls inside which are not recyclable but can be processed the same way as the carbon filter and the remaining plastics into recycling.

The plastic components of those filters can be put into the plastic recycling bin. You would need to take care if you are cutting open the filters, otherwise, you can just be put in the general waste. Osmio and other sanitaryware companies cannot make new products from recycled plastics, but there is a large range of products that get made from them, so long as the council is doing proper recycling.

Does it remineralise the water and is the water acidic?
Question by: nextlev on 29 Dec 2018, 13:31
Great question, thank you. The final filter in the system contains calcium and magnesium active ceramic balls. They have the effect of adding around 20-30 ppm in total to remineralise the water. Reverse osmosis as a process does not affect the pH (hydrogen ion), however because of the purity of the water CO2 is dissolved from contact with the air as soon as the water is purified which forms carbonic acid. You can observe using a digital pH meter the pH slowly falling as a glass is left standing over a few minutes. The remineralisation ionises the water to counteract the carbonic acid, however the resulting pH entirely depends on the level of CO2 in the water as well as in the air (so depending on how long the glass is left out). When you drink the water, as soon as this reaches your stomach, containing hydrochloric acid of pH 2.0, whatever the pH of the water you drink, it becomes acidic straight away, we focus on the purity, the alkalinity (not measured by pH but by the mg/l of mineral content). We also recommend to use this water from our machine with the Osmio Hydrogen Water Bottle to free hydrogen around 1-1.5 mg/l in order to further enhance the health benefits of drinking water. Please do give us a call if you would like any further advice.

Is the calcium/magnesium remineralisation filter compulsory, or will the system work without it inserted?
Question by: Sue J on 1 May 2021, 16:39
you can replace the post filter with an empty one from the sanitization kit.

I change the filters on my Osmio Zero every 6 months and santitise as per the manual. The maintenance light came on about 2 months before I thought the change was due. I waited a couple of weeks but the light was still on. So I sanitised and changed the filters. However, the maintenance light is still on 2 weeks after I changed the filters. What else might be the problem? Please advise. I do not want the machine to break down due to my negligence/ignorance of the problem. Many thanks.
